Daruma dolls are gaining recognition as a symbol of Japan. Takasaki City in Gunma Prefecture is said to be the largest producer of daruma in Japan, and a town of good luck. We took inspiration from the traditional Takasaki daruma manufacturing method, which uses a mold to form the doll bodies. Using our own plaster mold to imprint a dynamic face into porcelain, we created a flat daruma. This flat daruma is made with the same high quality as our other tableware, so you can use it to serve your favorite Gunma delicacies or as a decoration – the possibilities are endless. We hope you will use it in your own personal way and gain a new appreciation for the tableware you use in your daily life.
